Soon, when you pause a movie or a TV show on Prime Video, the platform will show a “translucent ad featuring brand messaging and imagery, along with an “Add to Cart” and “Learn More” creative overlay” for as long as the video is paused. As you might have guessed, people can interact with this ad and add products from it to their cart. In addition to that, they can “get more information (about a product in the ad) sent to their email”
With this type of ad, brands will be able to entertain customers by providing interesting facts about them. They will also be able to show products in this ad and allow people to add those to their cart. Lastly, this type of ad will allow people to “learn more about services and products, and even unlock rewards.”
Amazon says that these three types of advertisements will start popping up in the upcoming broadcast year, which should start on 1 September 2024. With that, expect to see more advertisements in Prime Video on your in the next couple of months. If you want to avoid these ads, you’ll have to pay $2.99 per month on top of what you are paying for the Prime membership.
